On September 9, 2021, Menke Group Managing Director of ESOP Advisory and Investment Banking Matthew Nels will be speaking at the Great Game of Business Conference in Dallas. His presentation entitled, How Business Owners, Management, and Employees Can Benefit from ESOPs, will explore the range of ownership transition options that business owners might consider, and the characteristics, motivations, and objectives that make each one a good fit for particular circumstances.
The full presentation description is below:
Due to the impact of COVID, companies are increasingly focused on seeking ways to reduce corporate taxes, maximize cash preservation and provide competitive employee benefits. Additionally, the growing desire of baby boomer business owners to either retire or reduce their ownership stake while obtaining liquidity has led to a surge in ESOP discussions and transactions.
We will discuss the pros and cons of the ownership transition options available to business owners and management teams and how they align with the objectives of business owners, management and employees. The attendee of this session will also understand the characteristics of the businesses and objectives of the business owner/management team that typically select the different types of ownership transition options.
Conference attendees can take part in Matt’s presentation in-person from 7:45 to 8:30 AM local time.
The Great Game of Business Conference is the world’s largest gathering organized around the principles of open-book management. The Great Game of Business is a business framework utilized by thousands of companies around the world, centered around transparency and ensuring that employees understand the role their contributions play in their company. It was developed by SRC, which has been employee-owned since 1983, when Menke designed and installed their ESOP.
The principles promoted by the Great Game of Business and celebrated at their annual conference can be practiced by any company, but are certainly fundamental to a healthy culture of employee ownership. When employees at every level feel connected to the work they do, understand the impact of their efforts, and have a stake in their company’s success, the entire business benefits.
